phpinfo() – how to run?

When you develop in PHP, one of the first questions you will have is – what are my specs of PHP server?

You can use phpinfo() function to find lots of information about your PHP installation and it can be used to identify installation and configuration problems. To run the function, you need to create a file called test.php and place it into the root directory of your web server. Edit the file in a text editor and put in it the following content:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

After you saved the file, browse to it. In most cases it would be your local host http://localhost/test.php (or more general, open http://<server>/test.php).
